Spring makes one busy. After spending much of the winter indoors from too much cold, spring draws one outside if only to let one know it’s here to enjoy before summer sends one back inside to escape the heat.
Strangley there hasn’t been much rain as of yet and the plant life just doesn’t seem to have any ambition to rear its buds. The critters are abundant whether they be scavaging for food, mating or fixing up their homes. Skunks, foxes, racoons and even the odd coyote have been spotted as well as many varieties of squirrels, a couple of beavers, lots of swans, ducks, geese and hords of seagulls. Many of the smaller birds are beginning to mate. We’ve seen lots of red wings, robins, starlings and sparrows and seen several woodpeckers. We even came across a single snow white owl and a couple of perigrees falcons. While we looked for the possum it was still no where to be found. Snails may still be sleeping but one garden snake came by to show it had risen from its winter den.
No, spring may be here by calender dating but not weather wise. But perhaps todays comfortable air will stay and bring forth springs true nature; the glory of birth & rebirth.
