We went to a semi-beautiful ‘Natural State’ forest today and man was it hot, even out of the sun. I felt like I was in the wrong month, like the end of June.
You may have heard of the rhyme, April showers bring May flowers, well forget it. A lot of May’s flowers have already bloomed, without any April showers. The climate has gone mad
I really should’t joke about it as many of us are going to suffer greatly this summer. And there are not many who believe in the ‘ man made global warming’ theroy, but as one who ventures into the great outdoors way to much, believe it. And believe it when I say it is only going to get worse! Be prepared.
We had a grand time at the forest but I was some what disappointed at the end, thus the ’semi-beautiful’. I understand that ‘Natural State’ means untouched or uncared for by man, fall where they may, so to speak. But I think there should be a limited to it. Should natural also mean down right ugly? Downed trees everywhere, trees damaged by people, muck ponds (bug pools) galore, human garbage through out. I think the last one got me the most.
But there was beauty which I absorded with delight. There were flowers almost everywhere of about 6 or 7 varieties, some unreachable by my body or camera. Several of the wildlife ventured over to see what I was doing; a couple of butterflies, 2 gardner snakes, a variety of bees and beetles, and several bird varieties.
I took 198 pictures and would have taken more but I forget the extra set of batteries
Yesterday a person we knew briefly on our street was buried. 40 years old and died of a heart attack on Sat. Apparently he had been partying the night before and woke up to go to the bathroom and never returned. His wife, bless her heart, found him laying on the floor in the living room that morning.
It rained during the entire service and burial, which my Mother use to say was a good sign; It rains when a good person dies. The heavens weep for the loss.
This morning I read that an online person who’s blog I visit every once in a while has a brain tumor.
Tammy is taking it as best as she can. She posted a scan of the invader and has asked all of us to give it a name. She’ll hopefully pick one of them this Sat. My nephew calls it Tammy’s Tumor, a true original ![]()
We are crossing our fingers and keeping her in our prayers. (All the best, Tammy.)
So there you have it, part of my time in a nut shell
I’ll post images after the game. Game? Philly and Montreal, sillies
